Using same property loading code used to load property from classpath to load property file from server conf directory on jboss 6

I have a java class that loads property file from classpath. I am not authorised to change the property loading code but at the same time wants to store that property file at Jboss/server/default/conf directory on JBoss 6 so that i can make changes on property file without having to create new deployable. How can i achieve this. Is path to conf directory on jboss already in the classpath.
I am using Jboss 6.1.0 App server.

If i keep my property file at /conf directory on server, will the code below still be able to load it and use in required classes.

Here’s the code to load the property:

public Properties PropertyManagerObject() {

    InputStream inputStream  = getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("auth-client.properties");
    this.properties = new Properties();
    try {
        this.properties.load(inputStream);
    } catch (IOException e) {
       throw new RuntimeException("Error reading properties file.", e);

    }
    return properties;
}

Thanks in advance.
